Position Description:
A wonderful opportunity for a candidate to achieve gourmet cuisine in a remote wilderness setting in Alaska for exclusive clientele. Riversong Lodge is in search of a chef for the 2009 summer season. The ideal candidates should have at least 5 years of culinary experience in a similar position at a fine dining restaurant and a culinary degree is also required. The position demands creativity on a daily basis, ordering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards. This culinary professional should have knowledge of fine cuisine and all types of culinary techniques as well as traditional recipes, including desserts and basic pastries. Bread baking is also a plus. This person should also be willing to professionally interact with guests through the occasional cooking class and general socializing. This individual will be responsible for creating the menus according to existing restaurant concept and managing ordering. Ensure the proper handling/storage of all food items in accordance with hotel standards and sanitation/health regulations. We serve table d hote style cuisine. Best candidate for these positions are passionate with their profession and respect outdoor living.

The lodge is 70 air miles northwest of Anchorage on the southern bank of the Yentna River at the confluence of Lake Creek. It is accessible by floatplane only.
